What I do
I am a researcher and educator, focussing on business growth in diverse, international environments.
Research
I investigate what makes businesses – and the people who run them – successful in modern business environments.
I hold research-active roles on projects looking at international opportunities, entrepreneurial behaviours and mindsets, and digitally-driven internationalisation.
Learning & Teaching
I create learning environments that help adult learners develop advanced competencies for real-world success in their businesses, work or careers.
I work as a module coordinator and lecturer on topics relating to management, marketing and strategy, particularly in culturally diverse and cross-border environments.
Community Leadership
I share evidence-based insight where there is a particular need for understanding across diverse communities, cultures or countries.
I am a non-executive director with board experience of legacy and membership-based organisations.
Real-world experience and academic rigor
Accredited translator, international marketing director, entrepreneur… these are just some of the positions I’ve held over my 25-year multinational professional career*.
I also hold advanced academic degrees in technical and specialised translation and international business.
This allows me to bring academic rigor and real-life business experience to my work as a researcher, educator and leader.
* Fun fact: I’ve also worked as an automotive paintshop worker, a fishmonger, a German technical support agent, and a singer in a 15th-century Irish castle. Feel free to use this as an icebreaker when we meet 😉
